The 81mm long blade is made of 8Cr13MoV stainless steel hardened to 57-59 HRC. This Chinese steel has good corrosion resistance and hardenability comparable to AUS6. The 8Cr13MoV steel blade will be great for everyday use due to its corrosion resistance, good sharpness retention and ease of sharpening, for which a pocket whetstone is completely sufficient. Thanks to the use of a strong hilt, a full flat grind and a cutting edge with a gentle curve, the knife has good cutting properties, and the blade does not wedge in the material being cut.
The wide blade with a usable clip-point profile is finished with a stonewashed technique, during which the blade is subjected to a "bath" in fine grit. The matte, uneven coating perfectly masks minor scratches that occur during use of the knife.
The thickness of the blade at its widest point is 3 mm, which is a compromise between durability and functionality of the knife in everyday work. On the raised ridge of the blade transverse cutters have been cut, designed for stable support of fingers during work. The blade can be instantly unfolded with one hand by means of a milled flipper, just a vigorous press of the flipper and the knife is ready for use. The opening process is facilitated by the SpeedSafe assist mechanism. When the flipper flipper is pressed, the assist mechanism activates an internal spring that dynamically unfolds the blade, making the knife ready for use in a fraction of a second. A monolithic frame-lock, considered one of the most durable locking mechanisms, effectively protects the blade from accidental folding. The lock, like the flipper, can be operated with one hand. Discreet carrying of the knife in the pocket is ensured by the embedded deep carry clip, with the possibility of attachment under both sides of the handle.
The knife's handle is formed by liners of tough fiberglass-reinforced nylon. The contoured shape of the grip, the undercut for the fingers and the rough texturing make the knife fit securely in the hand and comfortable and pleasant to use.
