TheBenchmade 4600DLC-1 Phaeton is a lightweight automatic knife, featuring a CPM-S30V stainless steel blade, a large deployment button and an aircraft-grade milled aluminum handle.
ThePhaeton is an OTF (out of front) tactical automatic knife, designed for uniformed services and everyday use.
Tactical head
Theslim dagger head, with a drop-point profile, has been fully coated with a black DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) protective coating. This hard-wearing carbon sheath, increases the external hardness of the steel, so it perfectly protects the blade from corrosion, wear and scratches.
The renowned CPM-S30V steel was used in the construction of the blade. Crucible Industries' S30V powder steel is hardened to an optimal hardness of 58-60 HRC, so it maintains high sharpness for a long time, has high mechanical strength, and is also resistant to corrosion.
Thanks to its high vanadium carbide content, the steel is distinguished by its high impact and wear resistance, as well as its excellent cutting properties.
When choosing a hard steel knife, get a diamond sharpener, as sharpening with a standard ceramic whetstone can be very labor-intensive and inefficient.
Immediate unfolding
The blade is unfolded by moving the mottled slider forward, folding only requires moving the slider back in the opposite direction. The button has deep milling, so the knife can also be operated with gloves.
Reliable and safe
The blade is ejected and folded only after the slider is fully moved in a controlled manner, so the knife is safe to use and carry. The whole process is instantaneous and, most importantly, safe. Because when the blade is unfolded, it is locked in as many as 3 places.
Ergonomic handle
The comfort and ease of handling the knife is ensured by a solid handle made of aircraft-grade 6061-T6 aluminum. The grip has a profiled shape, its surface has been mottled, which guarantees excellent grip to the hand and prevents the knife from slipping. The flat dark earth anodized handle contrasts wonderfully with the black finish of the blade. The Benchmade 4600DLC-1 Phaeton has a high-set clip that makes it easy to discreetly carry the knife in a pocket or attach it to a belt.
