The Drop Point profile blade, thanks to the pronounced curve of the blade's belly and a ridge that gently slopes toward the tip, has a sturdy stab and good cutting qualities. It thus makes the Kershaw Lateral an all-purpose knife for simple jobs around the house, out of town, or in the wilderness.
The 76-millimeter long blade is made of popular 8Cr13MoV steel hardened to 57-59 HRC. It is resistant to corrosion, and its hardenability resembles the well-known AUS8. As a result, it holds its sharpness and can be easily sharpened. The blade has been oxidized, which makes it less susceptible to corrosion.

Liner lock and steel body
