Silky Pocketboy Curve 170-8 is a modernized version of the popular tourist and survival saw, equipped with an arched saw blade that increases work efficiency and facilitates cutting branches above our shoulders. Version with 170 mm blade for fresh wood.
Professional hand saws of the Japanese brand Silky were created on the basis of a centuries-old tradition of producing reliable cutting tools and modern technologies. This combination makes the Silky tools achieve high durability and sharpness, thanks to which we obtain high cutting efficiency.
Silky Pocketboy is a series of compact hiking saws with a light and handy design, which has been very successful in our country due to its efficiency and versatility of applications. The Pocketboy saw is especially appreciated by enthusiasts of survival, bushcraft, hunters and canoeists.
The blade of the Pocketboy Curve 170-8 saw was precisely laser cut from high carbon steel with high flexibility and high resistance to blunting. Compared to straight saw blades, the new blade with a gentle arcuate profile speeds up cutting and increases work efficiency by up to 15-20%. The slightly oval shape prevents the saw from falling out of the cut and makes it easier to cut the branches above our arms.
The surface of the blade is chrome-plated, which protects it against corrosion, the harmful effects of tree juices and weather conditions. Silky saws are distinguished by an advanced design of the teeth and the sawing technique "towards each other", ensuring maximum comfort and minimum energy input.
Sharp teeth for increased efficiency are ground in four planes. It is also important that only the edges of the teeth are subjected to induction hardening, thanks to which the rest of the saw blade is soft and flexible, thus preventing the saw from breaking during operation or improper use. The cutting part is shaped like an hourglass, as a result the saw blade does not get stuck while cutting, unlike most saws available on the market.
This characteristic tooth profile also minimizes the resistance to cutting, and the surface of the wood is extremely smooth after cutting.
Pocketboy Curve 170-8 hand saw is equipped with a 180 mm long saw blade of medium type, i.e. 8 teeth per 30 mm blade length. Such a blade is best suited for sawing a fresh limb of wood up to 85 mm thick.
The saw is folded in such a way that the aggressive teeth are safely hidden inside the handle. The locking mechanism allows the blade to be locked in two different positions, depending on the situation and working conditions. The Pocketboy model uses a polypropylene handle that guarantees high grip regardless of weather conditions. The set includes a practical closed case, made of transparent material, which protects the tool during transport in a backpack or a tool box.
Silky Pocketboy Curve 170-8 is a pocket saw that will surely appeal to fans of survival, bushcraft, hunters and people looking for an efficient tool for the garden or home workshop.
Silky Pocketboy Curve saws have interchangeable blades, available separately.
