The Silky Katanaboy 500-5 is a saw whose name refers to the traditional Japanese sword, which developed from very early 6th century forms to the full 16th century katana for about 1000 years. It is this attention to the tradition of forging steel that allowed us to create a modern saw that can handle any type of wood, easily passing through thick boughs with a samurai sword blade.
The Katanaboy series are the largest saws offered by the Japanese manufacturer Silky. The combination of modern technology and tradition makes Katanaboy saws achieve high durability and sharpness, thanks to which we obtain high cutting efficiency.
The saw blade of the Silky Katanaboy 500-5 saw is made of high carbon steel and its shape is precisely laser cut. The surface of the saw is chrome-plated, which prevents rust and protects it from harmful external factors. The main advantages of the Katanaboy saw are the saw blade teeth that are ground in four planes and the ergonomic and elongated handle. In order to prevent the teeth from breaking out, a hardening was applied to harden only the edges of the teeth, while the rest of them is soft and flexible. Precise hourglass-shaped grinding prevents the saw from jamming during cutting.
The Silky Katanaboy 500-5 hand saw is equipped with a blade 500 mm long with 5 teeth per 30 mm blade length. The saw is folded in such a way that the sharp teeth are hidden in the handle, and the set comes with a cover. This allows the saw to be safely transported to the workplace.
