EGCG is a so called catechin, which can be found in the secondary plant compounds of green tea.
EGCG is known as a vehicle within the green tea that is said to possess numerous nutritionally beneficial functionalities. For example, it is said to be an antioxidant and a thermogenic and thus frequently used by athletes (especially in combination with caffeine) for supplementation during diets.
As green tea's polyphenols and vitamin C are considered synergy substrates, we enhanced EGCG with vitamin C.

Epigallocatechingallat (EGCG) is the most powerful among the green tea polyphenols, which belong to the secondary plant compounds.
EGCG is generally known as a strong antioxidant, i.e. a compound that captures free radicals. Hence, it helps prevent the body cells from oxidizing. It is also said to possess thermogenic (i.e. calory wasting) qualities, which might explain why it is popular among athletes during their diets.
