Features:
Rail
Opinel pocket knife No.7 has a blade length of 8 cm. The blade is made of 12C27 stainless steel, modified by Sandvik and adapted to Opinel knives, and is renowned for its extremely high quality and easy daily maintenance. The steel is hardened by heat treatment with martensitic hardening. With a carbon content of at least 0.40%, the blade is of high quality and corrosion resistant.
The traditional Opinel blade is of the jatagan type. This shape was inspired by the curved point of the Turkish sword. The Jatagan blade has a convex profile, which gives it strength and allows it to be sharpened repeatedly.
Handle
The handle is made of French starch, which has a smooth texture with minimal veins and is ideal for painting. The handle is lacquered to protect the wood from moisture and dirt. The colour is green (green).
Virobloc protective ring
Opinel knife No. 7, like all Opinel curved knives from No. 6 onwards, is equipped with the Virobloc safety ring invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955. The Virobloc ring, which is cut from stainless steel, consists of two parts: a fixed and a sliding part. The blade is locked in both a folded position (for safe handling) and a folded position (for safety during transport).
