The Kershaw Misdirect 1365 is a small edc folding knife from the budget Starter series dedicated to less demanding users.
The Misdirect 1365 model is a folder for everyday use, which belongs to a budget series of knives with a modern design, made of 4Cr14 easy-to-sharpen steel and equipped with the SpeedSafe system responsible for supporting the opening of the blade.
Proven steel
The 76 mm long blade is made of solid 4Cr14 steel hardened to a hardness of 55–57 HRC. This Chinese stainless steel has a high corrosion resistance and maintains sharpness for a relatively short time, which, however, perfectly compensates for the ease and speed of sharpening.
Such properties of steel mean that Misdirect 1365 is intended for less demanding users and people who are just starting their adventure with outdoor and EDC.
Functional blade
The slim blade with a usable reverse-tanto profile has an effective antiqued BlackWash finish (black oxidation), which effectively masks minor scratches or abrasions of the blade caused during use.
Due to the use of a strong point, a concave cut and a cutting edge with a gentle curvature, the knife has good cutting properties and the blade does not get stuck in the material being cut.
The thickness of the blade at its widest point is 2.8 mm, which is a compromise between the durability and functionality of the knife in everyday work. Transverse cutters made on the spine of the blade allow for a stable support of the fingers during work.
Convenient operation
The blade is unfolded with one hand using a milled flipper, a convenient solution for both right and left-handed users. This convenient method of opening the blade makes the use of the knife extremely convenient and easy.
A mechanism supporting the unfolding of the blade
The opening process is facilitated by the SpeedSafe support mechanism. When you press down on the pinball fin or pry the pin, the support mechanism activates an internal spring that dynamically unfolds the blade, making the knife ready for use in a fraction of a second.
Robust lock
The monolithic frame-lock blockade, considered one of the most durable locking mechanisms, effectively protects against accidental folding of the blade. The lock, like the flipper and the pin, can be operated with one hand.
A reliable lock is an important element that calls for the functionality and safety of a folding knife.
Carrying clip
Discreet carrying of the knife in the pocket is facilitated by an elastic clip that can be attached in 3 positions. The backspacer protruding from the handle has a hook for attaching a line or paracord braid, which are very popular among many knife owners.
Steel cladding
The handle of the knife is made of stonewashed stainless steel cladding. The minimalist design without effective accessories perfectly emphasizes the utility character of the knife.
