The Kershaw Leek 1660BLKW is a popular knife for everyday use, with a blade made of Swedish 14C28N steel, a mechanism supporting the unfolding of the blade and a proven frame-lock blockade.
Light and handy design
The Kershaw Leek was created with everyday use in mind, which is clearly emphasized by its small size, light structure and typically functional style.
The 76 mm long blade is made of Swedish 14C28N stainless steel hardened in the range of 58-60 HRC. Due to the high purity of the alloy, 14C28N steel is distinguished by high hardness, corrosion resistance and, importantly for the user, long-lasting working sharpness.
The slim blade with an aggressive wharncliffe profile has an impressive BlackWash finish (black oxidation), which effectively masks any scratches or abrasions of the blade caused during use.
Thanks to the use of a narrow point, a concave cut and a cutting edge with an almost straight line, the knife has excellent cutting properties and the blade does not get stuck in the material.
The thickness of the blade at its widest point is 3 mm, which is a compromise between the durability and functionality of the knife in everyday work.
Comfort of use
The blade can be unfolded with one hand in two ways: with a milled flipper or using a double-sided pin, thus enabling the choice of a method according to our preferences.
Both solutions are convenient for both right-handed and left-handed users, they also allow for convenient use of the knife with gloves. The opening process is facilitated by the SpeedSafe support mechanism.
When you press the pinball blade, the support mechanism activates an internal spring that dynamically unfolds the blade, making the knife ready for use in a fraction of a second.
Two locks
The monolithic frame-lock blockade, considered to be one of the most durable locking mechanisms, effectively protects against accidental folding of the blade. The main lock is supported by an additional Tip Safety Lock.
A slide lock located in the upper part of the knife prevents accidental opening of the blade in the folded position.
Foldable clip
Discreet carrying of the knife in the pocket allows the high-mounted clip with the possibility of mounting on both sides of the handle. Next to the clip, there is a hole for attaching a decorative paracord braid, which is very popular among most knife owners.
Simple and stylish
The handle of the knife is made of 410 stainless steel cladding, delicately profiled to the hand. The BlackWash method was used to finish the handle, similar to the blade, thanks to which the knife has a fashionable, distressed look.
