The Kershaw Scallion 1620FL is a pocket EDC knife with a 420HC stainless steel blade, a blade unfolding support mechanism and a proven frame-lock blockade.
Light and handy design
Kershaw Scallion was created with everyday use in mind, which is clearly emphasized by its compact size, light construction and typically functional style.
The 61 mm long blade is made of the popular 420HC stainless steel. This American steel is distinguished by an increased content of carbon and chromium, which ensures its corrosion resistance and good hardenability comparable to AUS6.
The blade made of 420HC steel is perfect for everyday use, due to its resistance to wear and corrosion, good sharpness and easy sharpening, for which a pocket whetstone is enough.
The slim blade with a usable drop-point profile has an elegant sandblasting finish. Thanks to the use of a narrow point, a concave cut and a cutting edge with a gentle curvature, the knife has good cutting properties and the blade does not get stuck in the material.
The thickness of the blade at its widest point is 2.8 mm, which is a compromise between the durability and functionality of the knife in everyday work.
Comfort of use
The blade can be unfolded with one hand in two ways: with a milled flipper or with the use of a double-sided pin, thus enabling the selection of a method according to our preferences.
Both solutions are convenient for both right-handed and left-handed users, they also allow for convenient use of the knife with gloves.
A mechanism supporting the unfolding of the blade
The opening process is facilitated by the SpeedSafe support mechanism. When you press down on the pinball fin or pry the pin, the support mechanism activates an internal spring that dynamically unfolds the blade, making the knife ready for use in a fraction of a second.
Two locks
Against accidental folding of the blade, the monolithic frame-lock lock is effectively protected, considered to be one of the most durable locking mechanisms. The main lock is supported by an additional Tip Safety Lock.
A slide lock located in the upper part of the knife prevents accidental opening of the blade in the folded position.
Carrying clip
Discreet carrying of the knife in a pocket is possible thanks to the profiled clip (right-hand side). On the other side of the handle there is a hole for attaching a decorative paracord braid, which is very popular among most knife owners.
Simple and stylish
The handle of the knife consists of 410 stainless steel cladding, delicately profiled to the hand. The sandblasting method was used to finish the grip, similar to the blade, thanks to which the knife has a very stylish and elegant line.
