The Kershaw Pushrod 1345 is a budget EDC folder from the Starter series, which uses an 8Cr13Mov stainless steel blade, a popular liner-lock blockade and a SpeedSafe support mechanism.
Thanks to the combination of modern design, handy size, solid steel and functional structure, the Kershaw Pushrod 1345 is perfect as an outdoor knife and everyday tool.
Stainless steel
Kershaw Pushrod 1345 is a handy folder with a functional design, designed for everyday carrying and light work.
The 76 mm long blade is made of the popular 8Cr13MoV steel hardened to 57-59 HRC. This Chinese steel has good corrosion resistance and hardenability comparable to AUS6.
The 8Cr13MoV steel blade is perfect for everyday use, due to corrosion resistance, good sharpness and easy sharpening, for which a pocket whetstone is enough.
Functional style
The slender blade with a usable spear-point profile has an effective BlackWash finish (black oxidation), which effectively masks any scratches or abrasions of the blade caused during use.
Thanks to the use of a strong point, a concave cut and a cutting edge with a gentle curvature, the knife has good cutting properties and the blade does not get stuck in the material being cut. Transverse cutters made on the spine of the blade allow for a stable support of the thumb during work.
The thickness of the blade at its widest point is 3 mm, which is a compromise between the durability and functionality of the knife in everyday work.
Convenient unfolding
The blade can be unfolded with one hand in two ways: with a milled flipper or with the use of a double-sided pin, thus enabling the selection of a method according to our preferences.
Both solutions are convenient for both right-handed and left-handed users, they also allow for convenient use of the knife with gloves.
A mechanism supporting the unfolding of the blade
The opening process is facilitated by the SpeedSafe support mechanism. When you pry the pin or press the pinball fin, the support mechanism activates an internal spring that dynamically unfolds the blade, making the knife ready for use in a fraction of a second.
Robust lock
The classic liner-lock blockade, valued for durability and ease of use, effectively protects against accidental folding of the blade. The lock, like the flipper and the pin, can be operated with one hand.
Carrying clip
Discreet carrying of the knife in a pocket is possible thanks to a steel clip (without the possibility of translating it).
Modern handle
The Kershaw Pushrod 1345 has black G10 cladding. The glass-epoxy laminate used is characterized by low weight, high mechanical strength, resistance to water, temperature changes, and the action of many acids and solvents.
The profiled shape of the handle and fine texturing make the knife very secure in the hand, and its use is very comfortable. The handle has a hole for attaching a decorative paracord braid, which is very popular among most knife owners.
