The Kershaw Oso 1830 is a versatile edc knife, equipped with an 8Cr13MoV stainless steel assisted blade, textured FRN facings and a proven liner-lock.
The Kershaw Oso 1830 will be an excellent choice for people who are looking for a functional, convenient to carry and at the same time inexpensive knife for everyday tasks.
Proven steel
The 78 mm long blade is made of the popular 8Cr13MoV steel hardened to 57-59 HRC. This Chinese steel has good corrosion resistance and hardenability comparable to AUS6.
The 8Cr13MoV steel blade is perfect for everyday use, due to corrosion resistance, good sharpness and easy sharpening, for which a pocket whetstone is enough.
Efficient cutting
The blade with a usable recurve drop-point profile has a matte satin finish (polishing) that gives it a stylish look.
Thanks to the use of a strong point, a concave cut and a slightly rounded cutting edge, the knife has good cutting properties, and its sharpening is not a problem. The thickness of the blade at its widest point is 2.8 mm, which is a compromise between the durability and functionality of the knife in everyday work.
Comfort of use
The blade can be quickly and conveniently unfolded with one hand using a milled flipper. The operation takes place in a very natural and easy way and enables comfortable use of the knife by right and left-handed people.
A mechanism supporting the unfolding of the blade
The opening process is facilitated by the SpeedSafe support mechanism. When you press the pinball blade, the support mechanism activates an internal spring that dynamically unfolds the blade, making the knife ready for use in a fraction of a second.
Steel blade lock
After unfolding the blade, it is securely locked with the liner-lock mechanism. The steel blockade strip ensures a high level of security, and its operation is very intuitive and convenient. A reliable lock is an important element that calls for the functionality and safety of a folding knife.
Wide handle
The knife is faced with hard, glass-fiber reinforced nylon. A wide grip, deep undercut for the index finger and characteristic scaly texturing make the knife very firm and safe in the hand.
Steel reinforcement inserts, to which polyamide claddings are attached, are responsible for the stiffness and strength of the knife. Discreet carrying of the knife in the pocket is possible thanks to a wide clip, with the possibility of mounting in 2 positions (top / bottom).
The handle also has a hole for attaching a decorative paracord braid, which is very popular among most knife owners.
