The Kershaw Fatback 1935 is a tactical-style edc knife featuring a slim 8Cr13MoV stainless steel blade, aggressively textured FRN cladding, and an unfolding aid system.
Stainless steel
The 89 mm long blade is made of the popular 8Cr13MoV steel hardened to 57-59 HRC. This Chinese steel has good corrosion resistance and hardenability comparable to AUS6.
The 8Cr13MoV steel blade is perfect for everyday use, due to corrosion resistance, good sharpness and easy sharpening, for which a pocket whetstone is enough.
Efficient cutting
The blade has a slender dagger profile that can be described as a modified drop-point dagger. The blade is secured with a black oxide coating, which partially protects the blade against scratching and corrosion.
Due to the use of a sharp point, a concave cut and an almost straight cutting edge, the knife provides excellent penetration and good cutting properties. There are deep transverse cutters on the spine, which allow for a stable support of the thumb during cutting.
Comfort of use
The blade can be quickly and conveniently unfolded with one hand using a milled flipper. The operation takes place in a very natural and easy way and enables comfortable use of the knife by right and left-handed people.
Mechanism supporting the unfolding of the blade
The opening process is facilitated by the SpeedSafe support mechanism. When you press the pinball blade, the support mechanism activates an internal spring that dynamically unfolds the blade, making the knife ready for use in a fraction of a second.
Steel blade lock
After unfolding the blade, it is securely locked with the liner-lock mechanism. The steel blockade strip ensures a high level of security, and its operation is very intuitive and convenient. A reliable lock is an important element that calls for the functionality and safety of a folding knife.
Tactical handle
The knife has straight cladding made of polyamide, i.e. glass-fiber reinforced nylon. An elongated handle with non-slip texturing, wide ribbing of the lower part and a flipper acting as a handguard make the knife very firm and safe in the hand.
Steel reinforcement inserts, to which polyamide claddings are attached, are responsible for the stiffness and strength of the knife. Discreet carrying of the knife in the pocket is possible thanks to a wide clip, with the possibility of mounting in 3 positions.
