Description

TheKershaw Tumbler 4038 is an elegant edc folder designed by Belarusian knifemaker Dmitry Sinkevich, who became famous through his collaboration with Zero Tolerance.

Hard D2 tool steel

The 71mm long blade is made of hard and durable D2 tool steel hardened to 58-60 HRC. D2 is the most corrosion-resistant carbon steel and features high abrasion resistance, long working sharpness retention and aggressive cutting. When choosing a knife made of hard highly hardened steel, it is worth getting a diamond sharpener, as sharpening with a standard ceramic whetstone can be very labor-intensive and inefficient.

A usable blade

The slender utility drop-point blade has a tapered section of the back and a milled ramp, allowing for a stable thumb rest. The knife owes its good cutting qualities to a flat grind and a cutting edge with a gentle curve. The blade was finished using the stonewashed method (bath in abrasive stones), which effectively masks any scratches or abrasions of the blade caused by use.

Comfort of use

The blade is unfolded with one hand using a milled flipper, a solution convenient for both right- and left-handed users. KVT ball bearings have been installed on the axis of the head, thanks to which the blade runs smoothly and dynamically, which every user is sure to appreciate during everyday use. The ball-bearing head combined with a convenient opening technique make the Kershaw Tumbler 4038 a practical and functional edc knife.

Robust locking mechanism

The patented Sub-Frame Lock, which is a lighter version of the proven frame-lock mechanism, effectively protects against accidental folding of the head. The Sub-Frame Lock provides the same level of security, but has a lighter weight, thus reducing the weight of the entire knife. The lock, like the flipper, can be operated with one hand.

Stylish linings

The knife's handle is formed by liners made of 3D G10 composite and carbon fiber. The glass-epoxy laminate used is characterized by light weight, high mechanical strength, resistance to water, temperature change, as well as to many acids and solvents. An element that attracts the attention of knife enthusiasts is the decorative carbon fiber inserts, which give the knife an elegant character. Discreet carrying of the knife in the pocket is made possible by a high-set clip, with the possibility of attaching to both sides of the handle.
