Handy and durable
The tube of the flashlight is made of anodized A6061-T6 aircraft aluminum , which guarantees high resistance to damage and solid construction. Thanks to the transverse knurling of the surface, the flashlight does not slip out of the hand, and its grip is clearly perceptible.
The flashlight measures only 64 mm, weighs about 78 g with the battery , so it can constantly accompany us in our daily activities. The angle of the light beam can be easily adjusted up to 180 ° by turning the body in the polymer clamps. Unlike traditional headlamps, the Fenix HM50R V2.0 can be used as a traditional angle flashlight after detaching it from the assembly . The manufacturer has not forgotten about a functional clip (removable) that allows you to carry the flashlight on a belt, backpack or pocket.
Two colors of light
The main light source is a new generation Cree XP-G3 S4 diode , emitting a maximum light beam of 700 lumens at a distance of 115 m ! Neutral light color reduces eye fatigue, provides more natural color rendering and better visibility of details. The flashlight has an additional red light (2 modes) , which is perfect for night activities, because, unlike white light, it does not blind the user, ensures smooth adaptation of the eyesight to vision in the dark, facilitates reading maps and limits our visibility. The flashlight uses a modified collimating lens, which causes the light beam to be evenly dispersed and efficiently illuminates the center and sides of the scene in front of us .
6 working modes
The user has 4 modes of white light and 2 modes of red light at his disposal . All activities related to the operation of the Fenix HM50R, i.e. switching on, switching off and changing modes, take place using a large silicone button located at the top of the flashlight. This guarantees high comfort of use and allows you to operate the flashlight also with gloves.
Convenient charging
A big innovation is the ability to charge the battery via the USB-C port, which allows you to charge the ARB-L16-700P battery (included) in just 1.5 hours. During outdoor activities, it is worth checking the condition of the battery, which is why the HM50R flashlight features a low energy warning system and a simple LED indicator that informs the user about its condition. The diode in the upper switch informs about the battery level for 3 seconds after activating the flashlight.
Battery Level Indications:
- constant green light: 100-80%,
- flashing green light: 80-50%,
- constant red light: 50-20%,
- flashing red light: 20-0%.
Additional functions
During transport, the flashlight can be blocked by switching to the so-called lock mode . This protects against accidental switching on of the light and uncontrolled exhaustion of the battery. The flashlight also remembers the last used brightness level. When turned on again, the flashlight will automatically activate in this mode (memory function).
Security
The flashlight has a high IP68 protection class , which means that it is resistant to dust, heavy rain, and even full immersion in water (2 m) for 30 minutes. Therefore, the HM50R V2.0 can be successfully used in all weather conditions , practically for any physical activity. The manufacturer has not forgotten about the use of overheating and reverse polarity protection and a controller with digital current regulation.
Reflective band
Stable carrying of the flashlight on the head is ensured by a modernized rubber band that drains sweat and equipped with reflective inserts that increase our visibility and safety when moving at night on the road or trail .
The light parameters were tested using the 16340 ARB-L16-700P battery.
