Fenix HP16R is a professional headlamp with a total flux of 1700 lumens , equipped with 3 LEDs emitting focused, diffused and red light, a USB-C fast charging system , and two control buttons. The flashlight has an external battery compartment that allows the use of AA batteries.
Modular design
The flashlight has a durable die -cast aircraft aluminum body . Light aluminum alloy effectively removes heat generated during lighting, is resistant to mechanical damage, corrosion and weather conditions. The headlamp consists of 3 main elements: a light module, a separate supply container, and an elastic band. The external power supply container has a longer cord for convenient carrying on a helmet or attached wristband. The set includes 7 clips ensuring proper organization and stable mounting of the power cord. There are 3 reflective inserts on the container to increase our visibility after lighting and a fluorescent positive pole marking, which helps in replacing the battery in complete darkness.

Thanks to this design, the Fenix HP16R will be perfect for exploring caves, camping, night walking, search and rescue operations, as well as sports activities in which it will be necessary to use the headlamp for a long time.
Light for a variety of uses
The main light source of the flashlight is the SST40 diode with a cool color , which emits a maximum flux of 1300 lumens. White light illuminates more distant places, we also have the impression of much greater brightness. The light of the main diode reflects the smooth, smooth reflector, creating a well-focused beam with a maximum range of over 260 m, useful for exploring, studying passages and admiring distant objects. Such impressive performance has been achieved, among others thanks to the use of toughened ultra-clear glass with an anti-reflective coating with high light transmission, covered and a smooth reflector that precisely concentrates the light of the diode. In addition to the long-range emitter, the headlamp uses 2 additional LEDs: XP-G3 with a neutral color and red light of the LEDEverlight 2835 . The Cree XPG-3 emits warm-colored light (3500 K) with a high CRI 75 color index . This means that the colors are better rendered than in the case of cold light, and the illuminated objects look natural. The light of small emitters is scattered by collimating lenses. The wider and evenly dispersed stream is perfect for illuminating the workplace, campsite, it will be appreciated by photography enthusiasts and people who will not refuse to read "to the pillow" even during the night in the forest. By using a flashlight with a neutral light in winter, you will avoid unpleasant glare with light reflected from snow or ice. Turning on the white LEDs at the same time in the maximum mode, the headlamp generates a total light flux of 1700 lumens! Such an impressive illumination allows you to illuminate a large cave, slope or forest wall even from a distance of 200 meters. The flashlight has a beam angle adjustment (up to 60 °) by tilting the flashlight module forward.
USB-C charging port
The Fenix HP16R headlamp is powered by a 3000 mAh Fenix ARB-LP lithium-polymer battery, which can be replaced if necessary with 4 popular AA batteries. Charged battery provides up to 12 days of operation in low diffuse light mode (5 lumens) or 4 hours of lighting of the main diode in turbo mode (1300 lumens). If we want to extend the work of the flashlight, it is enough to connect a portable power bank with high capacity to the built-in USB-C port. The USB-C port provides a high charging current of 2 A, allowing the battery to be charged in just 2.5 hours. Charging via the USB-C port takes place without removing the battery from the headlamp. This functional and convenient solution has already been appreciated by many mountain enthusiasts, survivalists and tourists.
Convenient controls
Thanks to the use of two buttons, the operation of the flashlight is very simple and convenient, and most importantly, it does not require removing the flashlight from the head. The enlarged switches are placed in the upper part of the headlamp, which facilitates their location and allows for convenient operation with gloves.
The switch on the right side is responsible for turning on / off and changing the brightness of the focused light, the button on the left side performs the same functions for diffused and red light.
The long-range LED offers 5 operating modes (right button):
- Turbo 1300 Lumens - For cave exploration and illuminating distant objects
- high 400 lumens - optimal lighting for jogging, night hiking
- medium 150 lumens - ensures long working time
- low 50 lumens - discrete light used in situations where we want to work as long as possible.
The scattered light diode has 3 operating modes (left button):
- High 400 lumens - optimal lighting for work, camping
- medium 150 lumens - efficient light to illuminate a small space
- low 5 lumens - discrete light used in situations where we want to work as long as possible.
The red diode provides 2 modes of operation:
- low-discrete red light for night use,
- flashing-warning light.
Comfortable headband
Convenient carrying of the flashlight on the head is ensured by an elastic rubber band , which is responsible for comfort and efficient drainage of sweat during exercise. An additional stabilizing strap and a set of clips make it easier to adjust the band to the user, as well as to attach it to a protective helmet.
Advanced security
The Fenix HP16R is protected against reverse polarity (incorrect battery installation), which may damage the electronic system. The flashlight also has overheating protection , initiated automatically after reaching the temperature defined by the manufacturer. This model also uses a lock mode that prevents accidental turning on the flashlight during transport. The flashlight has a high IP66 protection class , which means that it is resistant to dust, heavy rain and temporary immersion in water. Thanks to this, the HP16R can be successfully used in all weather conditions, regardless of physical activity.
The presented parameters were obtained in laboratory conditions. During the tests, the Fenix ARB-LP 3000 Li-Po battery was used.
