The wheels are large, usually 28", so you'll have less to trample on and more to enjoy.
Front shock-absorbing fork - for comfort, better grip on different terrains, to get around obstacles, and for safer downhill descents.
The chainring is usually fully hidden under the chain guard - for more protection against dirt, smudges and clothing "getting caught in the mud". The chain cover makes it less likely to need lubrication, and the commonly used internal gears make it more durable.
The saddle is wide, soft, often with extra cushioning - for the most comfortable ride possible.
Lights are connected to the dynamo - generating light when passing, without the need for additional lighting and battery.
Soft, medium-width, low-tread tires. They are narrower (and therefore faster) than mountain bike tyres and more durable than road tyres. Often with puncture protection.
Internal gears - low maintenance.
