Large wheels mean you'll have less to trample on and more fun.

The chainring is usually fully concealed underneath the chain guard - more protection against dirt, smudges and "dragging" of clothes when tramping. The chain cover makes it less likely to need lubrication, and the commonly used internal gears make it more durable.
