High battery self-discharge
SANYO eneloop batteries have an extremely low self-discharge. After three years, as much as 75% of the battery's capacity remains, whereas conventional batteries have 0% capacity after two years.
All batteries are sold fully charged, so they can be used again and again.

eneloop to ordinary Dry-Cell batteries
eneloop batteries maintain the same voltage up to full charge. Unlike conventional dry-cell batteries, eneloop batteries have a low starting voltage (1.2V, conventional 1.5V), so they do not work in devices where high voltage is required, e.g. eneloop can work with flashlights, but the placement will be dimmer than with high voltage batteries.

High capacity batteries
Using eneloop batteries in a point-and-shoot camera, you can take up to 4.4 times as many photos (~514) as with conventional batteries (~117).

Excellent low temperature performance
eneloop batteries work perfectly at 0°C and can be used down to -20°C.
