HERMANN AND ERNST NIER SET UP THEIR PRODUCTION FACILITY IN 1893
The starting point of the Feuerhand lantern can be found in Beierfeld in the Saxon Ore Mountains. Hermann Nier ran a plumber's workshop there in the 1870s and built lanterns, among other things. With increasing industrialization, the manufactories were replaced by factories that manufactured their products using machines - this was also the case in Beierfeld, which was known for its metalworking. The brothers Hermann and Ernst Nier founded a production facility for hurricane lanterns there in 1893.
HE FEUERHAND BABY SPECIAL 276 TO THIS DAY: MADE IN GERMANY .The Feuerhand Baby Special 276 cold air lantern has been produced as the only model since 1989. The world-famous brand and hurricane lantern production can now look back on over a hundred years of tradition.
