Boxing bandages are wrapped around the hand and wrist and the gloves protect the teeth and hand bones from possible injuries and impact force. Modern bandages often have a thumb loop and a hook-and-loop velcro closure that helps the bandage stay firm and not slip. Bandages on the hands are wrapped in several different ways: some of them help to ensure the position of the wrist, others - the teeth. A new alternative to bandages is gel gloves, which are worn under boxing gloves. It doesn’t take as long to put on as wrapping bandages, but some athletes say they aren’t as reliable as bandages.
