Lightweight and handy design
TheKershaw Scallion was created with everyday use in mind, which is clearly emphasized by its compact size, lightweight construction and typically functional style.
The 61 mm long blade is made of the popular 420HC stainless steel. This American steel is distinguished by its increased carbon and chromium content, which provide it with corrosion resistance and good hardenability comparable to AUS6.
The 420HC steel blade will perform well in everyday use due to its resistance to wear and corrosion, good sharpness retention and ease of sharpening, for which a pocket whetstone is completely sufficient.
The slim blade with a utilitarian drop-point profile has an elegant sandblasted finish. Thanks to the use of a narrow tip, concave grind and a cutting edge with a gentle curve, the knife has good cutting properties, and the blade does not wedge in the material.
The thickness of the blade at its widest point is 3 mm, which is a compromise between durability and functionality of the knife in everyday work.
Comfort of use
The wedge can be unfolded with one hand in two ways: with a milled flipper or with a two-sided peg, allowing you to choose the method according to your preferences.
Both solutions are convenient for both right- and left-handed users, and also allow comfortable operation of the knife with gloves.
Assist mechanism for unfolding the blade
The opening process is facilitated by the SpeedSafe assist mechanism. When the flipper flipper is pressed or the peg is leveraged, the assist mechanism activates an internal spring that dynamically unfolds the blade, making the knife ready for use in a fraction of a second.
Two locks
A monolithic frame-lock, considered one of the most robust locking mechanisms, effectively protects the blade from accidental folding. The main lock is supported by an additional Tip Safety Lock mechanism.
A slide lock located at the top of the knife prevents accidental opening of the blade in the folded position.
Carry clip
Discreet carrying of the knife in the pocket is made possible by the profiled clip (right side). On the other side of the handle there is a hole designed for attaching a decorative braided paracord, which are very popular among most knife owners.
Simple and stylish
The knife's handle is formed by liners made of lightweight and durable 6061-T6 aircraft aluminum, which are attached to steel liners, responsible for the rigidity and strength of the structure. The element that undoubtedly catches the eye of any knife enthusiast is the olive color of the liners.
The anodized coating is resistant to fading, scratching and abrasion, which guarantees the attractive appearance of the knife for a long time.
