Durability and sharpness - premium D2 steel

The 88mm long blade is made of tough and durable D2 tool steel hardened to 58-60 HRC. D2 is a carbon steel with superior corrosion resistance that cuts extremely aggressively, has excellent retention (ability to hold sharpness) and is highly resistant to wear and damage.

D2 is a great alternative to expensive premium steels because it has great cutting properties, is hard and highly resistant to abrasion. Its sharpening requires a lot of work and a suitable sharpener (preferably diamond), but this is compensated for by long edge retention and less frequent sharpening.
