Kershaw Outcome was created with everyday use in mind, which is clearly emphasized by its optimal size, sturdy construction and typically functional style. The 71 mm long head is made of the popular 8Cr13MoV steel hardened to 57-59 HRC. This Chinese steel has good corrosion resistance and hardenability comparable to AUS8. The 8Cr13MoV steel blade will be great for everyday use due to its corrosion resistance, good sharpness retention and ease of sharpening, for which a pocket whetstone is completely sufficient.
Thanks to the use of a strong hilt, concave grind and cutting edge with a gentle curve, the knife has good cutting properties, and the blade does not wedge in the material being cut. The thickness of the head at its widest point is 3 mm, which is a compromise between durability and functionality of the knife in everyday work . Transverse milling cutters made on the back of the blade allow stable support of the fingers during work.
